Descriptions
We often hear adage about human resources is the most important asset in the company. But in practice, it is not easy for companies to make HR a useful asset. There are still many companies that assume that HR or employees are workers who function as mere means of production. Recent events in Batam and elsewhere have opened our eyes to the practice of conventional HR management resulting in prolonged conflicts between management and employees that have a destructive effect on companies and employees. If the leadership of the company is willing to implement a competency-based HR management system, then the above event will not occur because, in the management philosophy, employees are people who have needs, expectations that need to be heard along with the potential and competencies that can be developed to achieve performance and company performance.
The competency-based HR management system discusses how the concept of competency is used in recruitment/selection, placement, training and development, and competency-based rewards. By implementing this system, the company’s future will be able to improve performance and face the challenges of business competition.
